As part of its efforts to enhance natural diversity and reintroduce endangered species to their natural habitats, the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority (KSRNR) has released 153 Arabian oryx into the Al-Tubaiq, Al-Khunfah, and Harrat Al-Harrah areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), KSRNR confirmed eight oryx births, highlighting that 2022 marked the first birth of the species in the Al-Tubaiq area in 90 years – the initial breeding success within the KSRNR.

They added that Arabian oryx are primarily active during early morning or evening hours to avoid extreme heat.

These endangered species reintroduction programmes demonstrate the KSRNR's ongoing commitment to ecological balance, biodiversity enrichment, and the conservation of species depleted by environmental pressures and habitat loss.
