The salaries of about 22,000 civil servants in Singapore will be adjusted upwards starting from August 2026, with increments ranging from 2% to 9%.
On the 20th, the Public Service Division announced that staff under the Management Executive, Technical Support, Management Support, Administrative Support, Operations Support, and related schemes will receive this pay increase.
In a statement, the Public Service Division noted that this salary adjustment is aimed at staying aligned with market standards, allowing the public service to continually attract and retain top talent amid evolving demands and an increasingly complex global environment so as to better serve the people of Singapore.
The Public Service Division said: “Civil servants in the above schemes take on a variety of responsibilities, including policy and planning, administration, as well as daily operations. The public service regularly reviews salary levels and makes adjustments when necessary, keeping pace but not ahead of the market.”
The last adjustment to the salaries of these schemes was in 2022. Since then, market salary levels have risen noticeably.
Eligible Management Executive officers will receive salary increases ranging from 2% to 9%. Grades that are further behind market benchmarks will receive larger adjustments. For civil servants whose pay is already competitive with the market, the Management Executive scheme will not see any pay revision for now.
Eligible civil servants under the Technical Support scheme will receive a 4% to 9% increment; those on the Management Support and Administrative Support schemes will get a 4% to 5% increase; and Operations Support scheme staff will receive a 4% to 8% increase.
These salary adjustments were made following close consultations with the Public Sector Employees’ Union.
