Air Chief Marshal Prapas Songjaide, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force and Director of the Thai-Cambodian Border Joint Information Center (JIC), provided communication guidelines to the media yesterday, emphasizing Thailand's full commitment to safeguarding its border sovereignty. At the same time, he promoted diplomatic, economic, social, and public communication mechanisms to ensure international confidence in Thailand's border management.
Prapas stated that the meeting brought together representatives from the army, navy, air force, police, and armed headquarters to clarify regional facts and listen to media suggestions. Some security-related topics, he noted, must be discussed in a restricted environment. He highlighted that the Thai military is ready around the clock to defend national sovereignty, but military action is considered a "last resort."
Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marati Nari Tananda Mo, added that Thailand strictly abides by the December 27, 2025 joint statement and that stationed troops have not crossed the border nor have any intention to occupy Cambodian territory. At the same time, Thailand has lodged official protests and clarifications through formal channels, calling on all parties to refrain from making accusations at international forums without evidence in order to avoid undermining mutual trust.
The Information Center also issued a "white paper," compiling historical facts, events in 2011 and in July and December of 2025, along with operational evidence, and providing verifiable information for public reference. Prapas called on the media and public to adhere to information dissemination norms, avoid unverified speculation, and prevent confusion or a provocative atmosphere. He stressed that Thailand values facts and transparency, which are key to safeguarding national interests and sustainable peace.
