The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed its commitment to further deepen defense relations with the Kingdom of Thailand, as AFP senior officers attended the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day reception held in Manila on Wednesday (February 19).
An AFP spokesperson stated that the event highlighted the long-standing friendship and defense cooperation between the Philippines and Thailand. AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. attended the reception alongside Thai Ambassador to the Philippines Makawadee Sumitmor, as well as senior defense and diplomatic officials from both countries, at the Dusit Thani Hotel.
The AFP stated: “The Armed Forces of the Philippines reaffirms its commitment to deepen its defense ties with Thailand through continuous interactions and high-level exchanges. The celebration of Royal Thai Armed Forces Day reflects the shared vision of peace and prosperity between both sides.”
Highlights of the evening included martial arts performances by the Royal Thai Army martial arts team and the Philippine Army Arnis team, as well as a traditional Thai 'Khon' dance and a string ensemble from the Philippine Air Force, demonstrating mutual cultural respect and deep friendship between the two nations beyond defense cooperation.
