(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) — The Temburong District enforcement unit recently issued a compound fine of 1,000 BND to a contracted company for leaving garbage within the stall area of the Temburong District’s Telisai Market, violating Section 12(1)(a), Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act.
The company has been given a deadline of 7 days to settle the fine. If payment is overdue, authorities may bring the case to court.
Authorities stated that, upon conviction, first-time offenders may be fined not less than 2,000 BND and not more than 10,000 BND. For second and subsequent offenses, the fine may increase to not less than 10,000 BND and not more than 30,000 BND, or imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.
