(Kuala Lumpur, 14th) Pedophilic acts are appalling and even police officers who have witnessed various brutal scenes could not hold back tears.
According to the New Straits Times, a 29-year-old married man with children was arrested by police for allegedly selling child sexual abuse material on the dark web and Telegram.
Citing sources, the report said police are keeping tight-lipped on the investigation, but insiders revealed that during the investigation, police found the suspect was also suspected of sexually assaulting 15 children, with hundreds of images and dozens of videos as evidence of his actions, which are described as “sickening.”
“These scenes are horrific. Even experienced officers, who have witnessed the worst murders, dismembered bodies, and brutal crime scenes, were devastated by these images—the level of cruelty is shocking.”
According to sources, the suspect found and adopted children of unmarried or single mothers through online advertisements, and these children have now been sent to the welfare department.
The sources said that the majority of the victims' mothers were foreigners, with a few Malaysians.
The suspect is described as a soft-spoken man, wearing glasses, with neatly trimmed beard, who only confessed after three days of interrogation.
Reportedly, his wife collapsed upon learning of his criminal actions.
“No one ever suspected him. That’s the disturbing part of this case.”
Dato’ Kuma, Head of Investigations at Bukit Aman, stated at an earlier press conference that police are currently working with overseas agencies to trace materials disseminated online.
“We are facing an invisible enemy. The dark web makes it difficult to trace these individuals.”
He also reminded parents that it is vital to protect their children, as pedophiles often hide within communities, targeting unsupervised children.
The police have also invited the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to assist in the investigation, believed to be tracking who contacted the suspect via online advertisements.
Johor State Women, Family and Community Development Committee Chairwoman Khairin Nisa reminded single mothers not to hand over their children to strangers online.
She said this is not only an illegal act but also puts children at great risk.
She urged that adoption must be carried out through legal channels and not to be deceived by financial inducements.
She also confirmed that the rescued children are now under the care of the National Welfare Department and are receiving psychological counseling.
