In this Singapore general election, the People’s Action Party (PAP) retained its position as the ruling party. Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong delivered a speech in the early hours of May 4, stating that in these turbulent times, the PAP, entrusted by voters, will do its utmost for families, the nation, and the future.
Later, close to 5 a.m., Lee Hsien Loong posted on Facebook, expressing great happiness and relief over the results of the 2025 general election.
Lee remarked that this election was held at a critical moment, both for the world and for Singapore. Most importantly, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong needed a strong mandate in this election to show Singaporeans and the world that he has the full support needed to unite the country. The election results achieved this goal.
"The election shows that Singaporeans understand what is at stake. We recognize the critical importance of standing united to tackle the immense challenges ahead. We have clearly expressed our support for the Prime Minister and his fourth-generation leadership team."
