(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) In conjunction with the Borneo Bike Gathering Edition’s Ke Temburong Bisai (KTB) project, a “Convoy Journey” event was held to promote safe driving and raise awareness about road traffic regulations, especially targeting motorcycle riders and all vehicle drivers.
The “Convoy Journey” event was flagged off yesterday morning at BIBD Connects in Labu Square.
The guest of honor at the launch ceremony was Mohammad Sharifin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and Secretary of the National Road Safety Council (MKKJR).
The convoy route spanned a total of 41 kilometers, starting from BIBD Connects at Labu Square, passing through Belingos Village, Sumbiling Village, Bokok Village, and Puni Village, and finally reaching Bangar Town Jetty.
The convoy was led by the President of the Darussalam Motorcycle Association, Pengiran Rezuan.
Nearly 400 motorcycle riders from Brunei motorcycling associations as well as from Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia, and Kalimantan in Indonesia, also participated in the event.
In addition to promoting and raising awareness regarding road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, this event also emphasized the importance of self-discipline while riding motorcycles.
Moreover, the event also helped to strengthen the camaraderie among Borneo island motorcycle riders.
