(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) The Brunei polo team yesterday played against the Thailand polo team in the 'high goal' polo match of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 2025. The match was held at Padung VS Sports Club and Siam Polo Park in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Lifetime Honorary President of the Southeast Asian Games Federation and President of the National Olympic Committee, Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, attended the match.
Representing the Brunei polo team were His Majesty the Sultan's son Prince Mateen and daughter Princess Azemah Ni’matul.
In the first chukka, the Brunei polo team scored 1 goal, while the Thailand team scored 2 goals.
In the second chukka, the Brunei team’s score remained unchanged, and the Thailand team added another goal.
Meanwhile, in the third chukka, the Brunei team, thanks to a goal by Prince Mateen, closed the gap to 2-3, but ultimately lost to the Thai team with a final score of 2-5, missing out on advancement.
