(Sri Aman, 11th) The Pan Borneo Highway Rest Stop (R&R Jelukong), located along the Pan Borneo Highway, is currently undergoing its final preparations and is scheduled to be fully operational on May 15, 2026.
Datuk Cassidy Morris, Director of the Sarawak Public Works Department, visited the site yesterday (9th) to inspect the readiness of food stalls and convenience stores at the rest stop.
The Sarawak Public Works Department posted on Facebook that the purpose of this inspection was mainly to ensure all facilities and operations are ready and maintained in good condition before the official opening.
As part of the initial opening phase, some food stalls have already begun limited operations, allowing highway users to experience the services and environment offered by the rest stop in advance.
In addition, authorities are actively conducting cleaning and maintenance work, including for toilets, prayer rooms (surau), and surrounding areas to ensure visitors enjoy a comfortable and clean environment.
Meanwhile, security at the rest stop is also being strictly monitored 24/7 to ensure the public has a safe, orderly, and good resting environment.
The Pan Borneo Highway Rest Stop is part of a plan to enhance infrastructure along the Pan Borneo Highway, aimed at providing more convenient services for road users passing through the area.
