Washington Parade Takes Place as Americans Protest on the Same Day

(United States, 15th) On the 14th of the month, a grand parade was held on the streets of Washington to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Army. The day also marked President Trump's 79th birthday, with the event seemingly boosting his personal prestige. However, on the same day, large-scale anti-Trump 'No Kings Protests' were organized nationwide.
The parade took place on Saturday the 14th at 6:30 PM Eastern Time (6:30 AM Malaysian Time on the 15th).
Almost 7,000 US Army soldiers and 150 military vehicles participated in the parade, including more than 25 M1 Abrams main battle tanks and 28 armored vehicles.
This parade is the largest in the United States since the end of the Gulf War in 1991
The United States military might is unmatched worldwide, but parades are rare, having only been held four times in history. They were conducted after the Civil War in 1865 to celebrate reunification, in 1919 and 1945 to celebrate the end of World Wars I and II, and in 1991 to celebrate the victory in the Persian Gulf War. All four parades were linked to major wars; this time it is being held without the backdrop of a war victory, making it highly controversial.
Hours before the parade, hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and other locations for anti-Trump 'No Kings' demonstrations.
In downtown Los Angeles, the protest march stretched about 12 blocks. A 'Trump Baby Balloon' wearing diapers appeared.
On the same day, anti-Trump groups orchestrated nearly 2,000 demonstrations across the country, many of which had the theme 'No Kings Day', championing that no one is above the law.
However, all 'No Kings Day' protests in Minnesota were called off. Earlier in the day, two state legislators were shot, resulting in the death of one state legislator and injuring another. In downtown Los Angeles, thousands of protesters marched shoulder to shoulder, their procession stretching about 12 blocks.
In New York, even in the pouring rain, thousands gathered at Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan.
