35-Year-Old Mastermind Calls 'Wife' to Win Hearts; Four Older Women Willingly Act as Scam Drivers

The police in Yunlin County, Taiwan recently cracked a rare "older women driver team" fraud case. The 35-year-old mastermind is suspected of manipulating four women around the age of 60 using emotional tactics, winning their hearts by showing care and persuading them to act as cash withdrawal drivers.

According to comprehensive reports from Taiwanese media on the 14th, the police said that scam group drivers are mostly young people, and it is uncommon to see middle-aged and older women as drivers.

Reports indicate that all five individuals have been sent for charges under fraud and money laundering prevention laws. The court has approved detention for all of them, and the police are continuing to investigate up the chain.

The police investigation revealed that the four female drivers are all close to sixty. The mastermind, surnamed Zhao, gained their trust through emotional tactics, caring for them daily, and not only calling the four "baby" and "wife" but also showing tenderness in their phone conversations. Phrases like "Wife, go eat something" and "Wife, rest tonight, no need to work" were used, along with the incentive of earning a commission of 3,000 yuan from the first withdrawal each day. This enticed the four women to help withdraw fraudulent funds.

The task force had been investigating for several days and recently arrested Zhao and the four female drivers, seizing on the spot evidence including 362,000 yuan in cash, 61 ATM cards, and five mobile phones.
