The Indian airline crash claimed 241 lives, among them was 36-year-old UK national, Mr. Patolia, who had traveled to India to fulfill his Indian wife's last wish, only to encounter a fatal air crash on his return, leaving behind two young daughters who lost both parents in the span of a week.
According to foreign media reports, 36-year-old Patolia was married to his Indian wife Bharati for many years, and they had two daughters, aged 8 and 4.
A week earlier, his wife had passed away in London; her dying wish was for her ashes to be taken to India to be laid to rest. Consequently, Patolia traveled to India to transport his late wife's body back to her hometown for cremation, scattering her ashes in the Narmada River (a river revered by Hindus as a "holy river," believed to have purifying and blessing powers).
He returned to his ancestral village Wadiya in the Amreli district of Gujarat with his family to hold the ceremony.
After fulfilling his wife's last wish, Patolia took off from Ahmedabad airport to return to the UK, only to board a fatal flight, leaving his two young daughters behind.
It is understood that Patolia held a master's degree and was a successful individual, and the sudden tragic news left the family extremely saddened.
His nephew Krish expressed his grief, “Losing two close family members in one week is heartbreaking.”
Following the accident, forensic experts have been deployed at the scene, and aviation authorities have launched a formal investigation.
The cause of the Indian airline accident has not yet been announced, but emergency assistance has been offered to the families of the victims. The cause of the air crash is still under investigation and details await clarification.
According to media reports, this flight had a total of 242 passengers and crew members, 241 of whom perished in the crash, with only one survivor.
