(Selangau, 16th) — The Criminal Investigation Division of the Selangau District Police Headquarters recently arrested a woman in Muara Mongkos for suspected involvement in online gambling activities.
The Selangau District Police Headquarters stated in a press release that police arrested the suspect at around 4pm yesterday in a shop at Pekan Lama Muara Mongkos.
The statement pointed out: “Upon inspection, it was found that the woman was suspected of participating in online gambling activities.”
“The suspect has been arrested to assist with further investigations, and police have also seized several related items.”
Police stated that the case is currently being investigated under Section 4B(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. If convicted, one may be fined up to RM100,000, or imprisoned for up to 5 years, or both.”
