(MatU 16th) In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya, 6,000 household heads in the locality received beef aid yesterday, allowing residents to prepare for the festive celebration.
This aid was distributed by Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr. Juanda Jaya, with the aim of helping residents get ready for Hari Raya.
He stated that this initiative aims to ease the burden on families, especially those in need, while ensuring the local community can celebrate the festival in a more meaningful way.
Juanda, who is also the State Assemblyman for Jemoreng, said this event has been held 16 times over the past 8 years.
He said, “The response to the event has been very enthusiastic, and people of all races in the district participate actively.”
“Besides helping residents prepare for Hari Raya, this event has also become a platform for everyone to share in the festive joy, celebrating together in a harmonious atmosphere regardless of religion or ethnicity.”
He added that the distribution of aid items has also strengthened the spirit of mutual help and cooperation, with the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and local residents working together to distribute the goods to each household head.
At the same event, Juanda also handed out Hari Raya money packets to the attending JKKK members as a token of appreciation for their efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the event.
