Tan Sri Shafee Abdullah, the lawyer representing former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, stated that the defense will summon former Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner to testify in court.
He said that regardless of whether Tim Leissner is willing to accept questioning by the defense before testifying in court, the defense is determined to summon him to testify.
“The defense hopes to question him before he appears in court. If he is willing to accept questioning, the defense might question him for half an hour to an hour, then directly summon him to court.”
In addition, Shafee revealed that three weeks ago, they received a letter from the Attorney General, Datuk Mohamad Dusuki, suggesting not to prosecute former Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, who is currently serving as a Federal Court Judge, for contempt of court. However, after consideration, they still intend to prosecute.
He held a press conference on Monday (April 21) at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, saying that he received a letter from the current Attorney General, Datuk Mohamad Dusuki, three weeks ago, asking him to reconsider and not prosecute Abdul Gani Patail.
“After consideration, we believe we should still prosecute, so we will proceed with it within a week or two.”
