International Events Drive Club Development — Miri Anglers Tournament to Continue This Year

(Miri, 16th) Miri Anglers Club President Hung Li Chuan stated that the organization and participation in international fishing competitions have become an important driving force for the club’s continued development, while further enhancing the club’s reputation and influence within the fishing community.

He said that after the pandemic, the club resumed its long-running Miri International Deep Sea Angling Championship, which not only strengthened exchanges with anglers from home and abroad, but also increased public awareness of the club and spurred the development of local deep sea angling activities.

Hung Li Chuan made these remarks during a speech at yesterday afternoon’s club general meeting.

He said that the club’s journey has always depended on the long-standing support and cooperation of its members. The council also relies on members’ support and encouragement when planning and implementing various club affairs and activities.

He stated that this year’s international tournament will be held as scheduled and has received recognition from the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism. This achievement is also due to the empowerment and support the council has received from its members, serving as an important driving force for boldly moving forward.

"We hope members will continue to be the council’s strongest support, actively participate in club activities, and fully support the council’s future development direction, so the club’s affairs can keep progressing."

He emphasized that only with unified cooperation between members and the council can the club continue to grow, gaining the capability to organize more influential events and further improving the club’s overall development and image.

On another note, the Miri Anglers Club (2026–2027) new council inauguration ceremony will be held on the evening of April 26 at the Columbar Hotel.
