[US-Iran Deadlock] Trump: Vietnam War Lasted 19 Years, I'm Only in the Third Month

The war between the United States and Iran has entered its fourth month. The two sides have repeatedly extended the ceasefire reached in April and continue to negotiate an end to the war, but still carry out attacks against each other near the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump, in an interview on the 5th, stated that Iranian leaders have yet to reach an agreement with the United States because they are "tough" and "proud," but in the end, "they have no choice."

During an exclusive interview with NBC News in Wisconsin, Trump said: "They are tough, proud, but there are some things they once thought they'd never do, and now they have no choice but to do them. They have no choice, they just need some more time."

In addition, Trump criticized those urging him to quickly reach an agreement with Iran and end the conflict. He said, "Things like this take many years to resolve."

Speaking about Iranian leaders, he said: "These people have been fighting wars for 47 years. They have been killing Americans, causing many to lose limbs and be disfigured."

As for the duration of the US-Iran conflict, Trump mentioned the Vietnam War: "I'm moving very fast. I've only been fighting for three months. You know, the Vietnam War lasted 19 years. I'm just in the third month now, and yet they keep asking, 'When will you win?' If I were a Democrat, no one would ask this, but it doesn't matter to me. I'm already used to it."

Trump: Iran Probably Has About 20% of Its Missiles Left

Trump also said that the US has so far "completely destroyed" Iran's military, but Iran still has some missiles and drones. He said, "In terms of proportion, they have about 21% to 22% of their missiles left. That's still a lot of missiles, but it's nowhere near the scale they had when we first launched the attacks."
