(USA, 14th) — A campus shooting occurred at Brown University, an Ivy League school in Rhode Island, United States, on the 13th, resulting in 2 deaths and 8 serious injuries. The police have yet to apprehend any suspects.
According to various foreign media reports, Brown University is located in Providence. Mayor Smiley said at a press conference on the evening of the 13th that the shooting took place in the university’s Physics and Engineering building. So far, it has been confirmed that 2 people have died and 8 were seriously injured. The injured are in serious condition but remain stable.
Brown University had scheduled multiple final exams on the afternoon of the 13th, but the campus shooting occurred unexpectedly.
After the incident, the university issued a shelter-in-place alert, instructing students to lock doors and windows, set their phones to silent, and hide until further notice from the school.
US President Trump told reporters at the White House that day that the injuries of those affected by the Brown University shooting are "very serious" and said, "All we can do now is pray."
