(Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th) The Brunei Fujian Association Youth Group is scheduled to hold the “Zongzi Fragrance Spreads Worldwide, Ties with Fujianese – Bingxu Year Dragon Boat Festival Event” at 7:00PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the 3rd Floor Auditorium of their association. Advisors, committee members, members, fellow townsfolk, and their children are invited to attend and participate actively.
Cai Xin Zhe, president of the Brunei Fujian Association Youth Group, stated that the group holds Dragon Boat Festival events annually, aiming to unite members and compatriots, inherit and promote the fine traditional Chinese culture and customs, as well as use the festival opportunity to strengthen connections, promote unity, cooperation and exchanges, and create a harmonious and friendly social atmosphere.
He noted that during the 3rd Executive Committee meeting of the 10th Youth Group held on May 8, it was unanimously agreed to appoint Deputy Auditor Lin Meiyu as the chairman of the organizing committee for this year's Dragon Boat Festival event.
Lin Meiyu expressed gratitude to the Youth Group Executive Committee for their trust and stated she would do her utmost to make the event lively and successful.
She said that with joint planning by the organizing committee, various exciting activities would be arranged on the day, including a coloring competition, a calligraphy competition, and fun games, all designed to promote Chinese culture.
She also reminded that as there are limited spots for the competitions, interested participants should arrive early on the day to register directly onsite.
The event will begin at 6:00PM on June 6 at the Brunei Fujian Association’s Pi Xian Temenggong Dato Lim Teck Hoo Auditorium. Participants must check in before 5:45PM in the evening. The coloring competition is limited to the use of colored pencils only; crayons and watercolor pens are not allowed. For the calligraphy competition, the organizers will provide xuan paper and ink, but participants must bring their own brushes.
In addition, the organizers will prepare a sumptuous buffet dinner and zongzi for guests, allowing attendees to enjoy a warm and memorable Dragon Boat Festival together.
Lin Meiyu also announced the lineup for this year’s Dragon Boat Festival Organizing Committee, including many advisors, committee members, and group leaders covering roles such as general advisor, organizing committee advisor, chairperson, secretary, treasurer, general affairs, auditor, award ceremony, audio, venue, photography, and master of ceremonies.
