(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) has recently received reports from customers about suspicious phone calls.
The scam method is as follows:
Some individuals impersonate BIBD staff, informing customers that their account or credit card has suspicious transactions.
Subsequently, these callers ask for account information, falsely claiming it is needed for verification or security checks.
BIBD hereby reminds customers not to trust such calls and not to respond to any such requests.
If you receive such a call, be sure to verify the authenticity of the call by contacting BIBD through official channels (such as the BIBD Customer Service Centre or any nearby BIBD branch).
BIBD's advice:
Never disclose your account information, password or one-time password (OTP) to anyone over the phone or through any other means.
BIBD will never request your confidential information in this manner.
Please always contact BIBD directly through official channels to verify all calls.
If you receive any suspicious calls or messages, please report them to BIBD immediately.
If you believe you have been scammed, please report to the Royal Brunei Police Force. You may also visit any BIBD branch to submit a copy of your police report for complaint.
