(City, 21st) — Sun Dean, President of the World Chinese Writers Association, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and high appreciation for the Mirian Writers’ Association, led by Xu Jingping, for carefully planning and organizing the “13th World Chinese Writers’ Congress.”
Sun Dean pointed out that the successful preparation and the high-standard, multi-layered cultural event of this year’s congress could not have been achieved without the thoughtful arrangements and tireless efforts of the organizing team. In particular, the invitation of a number of dignitaries as guests of honor at various events fully demonstrates the Sarawak government’s emphasis and support for Chinese literature and cultural initiatives.
It is reported that all major activities of the congress will have prominent guests of honor in attendance. For instance: The opening ceremony will have Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Dr. Sim Kui Hian, as the guest of honor; the closing ceremony will be presided over by Sarawak Minister of Transport, Dr. Lee Kim Shin;
“World Chinese Night” will be attended by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, as the guest of honor; while the welcome dinner will have Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, YB Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, as the guest of honor.
In addition, the welcome dinner has specially invited the Mayor of Miri City and Pujut Constituency Assemblywoman, Yii Siu Chin, as a special guest to join this grand occasion.
Sun Dean stated that the strong support from these dignitaries not only adds glory to the congress but also further highlights the key position of Chinese literature in regional cultural development. He believes that, with the joint efforts of all parties, the 13th World Chinese Writers’ Congress will be a resounding success and inject fresh vigor into the exchange and development of global Chinese literature.
