(Selangor, 16th) A drunk driving case involving driving against traffic that resulted in a motorcyclist being seriously injured will see the driver charged next Monday (18th).
Selangor Klang South District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Lim Jihui issued a brief statement on Saturday morning, stating that police will bring the case to court and initiate prosecution procedures next Monday.
The driver involved was originally remanded until next Tuesday (19th).
The incident occurred around 12:30 am on Wednesday (13th), on the main road of Klang Kota (Persiaran Kota).
The car driver, in his thirties, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. He drove in the opposite direction for 3.5 kilometers before colliding head-on with a motorcycle, causing the rider to be seriously injured.
The police conducted a preliminary alcohol test on the driver, and the result was positive.
Currently, police are investigating the case under Section 44(1A) of the 1987 Road Transport Act (driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing injury).
