(Shi Long Men, 13th) — A four-wheel-drive vehicle was stolen from the Shi Long Men Bihu public parking lot on Saturday (April 11).
Acting district police chief Mohd Haide A. Rahman stated that police received a report at around 8:05pm after the owner discovered his vehicle missing after parking it by the road near Bihu.
It is understood that the owner is a local businessman who had parked his vehicle at the location between 1pm and 7:30pm, only to later find the vehicle had disappeared.
The vehicle involved is a green Ford Ranger with the license plate QAA 2888 R, and it is believed to have been locked when parked.
Police pointed out that preliminary investigations revealed the public parking lot does not have any CCTV surveillance system installed.
In addition, the vehicle is registered under a company name and was not equipped with a spare key or a GPS tracking device, with the loss estimated at about RM50,000.
