(Sri Aman, 13th) A household on Tun yi Road in Sri Aman experienced a terrifying moment early this morning when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV)—a Toyota Alphard—parked at the back of the house suddenly caught fire and burned.
The incident is believed to have occurred at about 3am, prompting the car owner to take immediate action to control the situation.
According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Center (PGOB), authorities received the emergency report at 3:14am.
Upon receiving the notification, the fire and rescue team quickly dispatched personnel to the scene to carry out firefighting and control work. Upon arrival, firefighters used an initial fire hose to carry out further extinguishing operations and ensure the fire was fully under control.
The incident caused about 50% of the luxury car to be destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
