(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) — A delegation composed of senior-level digital healthcare officials and executives from Brunei is currently in China participating in a management training program aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing digital healthcare development.
The program officially launched on November 18 at Chongqing Youth Vocational and Technical College, jointly hosted by the college’s president, Hu Li, and President Abdulla of Brunei’s MindBridge, a social enterprise for mental health and wellness. Representatives from the college’s Industry-Education Integration Development Center and Health Science Research Institute joined 21 participants from Brunei’s Ministry of Health, medical institutions, universities, and businesses at the opening ceremony, marking the formal commencement of the training.
In his keynote address at the opening, President Feng Huizong expressed gratitude for the support from all parties, encouraging participants to enhance their professional capabilities through mutual learning and exchanges, broaden their international perspectives, and deepen mutual understanding and friendship. He noted that the participants have the potential to contribute positively to China-Brunei vocational education cooperation and youth exchanges between the two countries.
Abdulla further introduced Brunei Healthcare Association’s situation and expressed hope that through this program, advanced concepts and technologies from China in traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation and smart healthcare could be introduced. Liu Wanying also stated that the training curriculum combines in-depth theory with practical application, and the teaching team will fully provide high-quality educational support.
Abdul, General Manager of AZIM Pharmaceuticals and the participant representative, likewise expressed high expectations for the training program.
The month-long course adopts the theme of “Digitalization and Smart Healthcare”, allowing participants to be exposed to traditional Chinese medical culture, intelligent rehabilitation technologies, smart health management, as well as the pharmaceutical heritage of the Bayu region. The program integrates lectures, hands-on training, company visits, and cultural experience activities to enhance the delegation’s management skills and technical capabilities in the rapidly developing health care sector.
The program has also received strong support from various institutions in Brunei, including the Ministry of Education, the Brunei Embassy in China, the National Chamber of Commerce, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO VOCTECH), as well as several industry associations and universities in Brunei.
Faridah, one of the participants, noted that the training is progressing smoothly, with the course covering acupuncture and other basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine.
