Immigration Department Raids Residence, Two Foreign Nationals Detained

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) Brunei's Immigration and National Registration Department recently carried out Enforcement Operation No. 76/2026, conducting a surprise inspection on a residence in Mukim Mentiri.

During the operation, authorities checked a total of five foreign nationals, of whom two were detained on suspicion of violating the Immigration Act and related immigration regulations.

Investigations revealed that the two detained foreign nationals are suspected of breaching Chapter 17, Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act, namely overstaying; and are also suspected of violating Chapter 17, Section 15(2) of the Immigration Regulations, namely not working for their original employer.

The Immigration Department stated that it will continue to strengthen enforcement actions, strictly crack down on all forms of violations of immigration laws, and urges the public to call the enforcement hotline to provide information on any suspected activities that may breach immigration laws, so as to jointly safeguard national security and social order.
