On the 23rd, Thai law enforcement authorities investigated a suspected telecom fraud den in Surin Province, northeastern Thailand, and discovered a foreign "police station."
According to Thai Headline News, officers found a large amount of evidence at the scene. Some rooms were set up to closely resemble police stations and government agency offices from several countries, reflecting the highly systematized and professionalized approach of the telecom fraud ring in venue planning, operation processes, and fraudulent techniques. This indicates the formation of a complete transnational crime network.
The official in charge of the raid pointed out that such activities not only threaten national security but also pose a major threat to humanity in the digital age, as criminals make large-scale use of online mechanisms to defraud the public. Relevant authorities will continue to expand the investigation, cut off sources, and crack down severely in accordance with the law, in order to protect the public and safeguard the country’s long-term security.
