(Kuching, 20th) Under Phase 2 of the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), the RM100,000 upgrading project for the Kampung Lubok Buan village hall has been successfully completed and was officially handed over for community use yesterday (January 19). Residents can now fully utilize this facility.
The handover ceremony was attended by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Yeo Kian Sing, accompanied by officers from the Public Works Department (JKR), village head Michael Mada, and a representative from Azraki Resources, the contractor.
This upgrading project was implemented based on the feedback provided by villagers after the completion of Phase 1, ensuring that the hall facilities better meet the actual needs of the community.
Yeo Kian Sing stated that this project addresses additional concerns raised by the village committee and residents.

He said, “The village hall is an important public asset for Kampung Lubok Buan. When village leaders and residents voiced further needs, we took action to ensure relevant issues were properly resolved.”
“I am pleased that Phase 2 of the 2024 RTP project has now been completed so the community can fully utilize it.”
The second phase focused on improvements to drainage, roofing, flooring, and toilet facilities, overall enhancing the hall’s safety, functionality, and daily comfort.
With the completion of the upgrading works, the village hall is expected to serve more effectively as a venue for meetings, social activities, and cultural programmes, further strengthening community cohesion.
Yeo Kian Sing also praised the Public Works Department and contractor for completing the work according to set standards and schedule.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with implementing agencies and the village committee to ensure development projects in the N12 Kota Sentosa constituency are effectively carried out and bring meaningful and long-term benefits to the community.
He said, “The Sarawak government’s people-centric and inclusive development policy prioritizes listening to grassroots voices and providing solutions that directly benefit the people.”
