Thailand will increase the international flight departure passenger service fee at six airports starting next month.
Airports of Thailand (AOT) announced that the international flight departure passenger service fee at its six airports will be raised from 730 baht per person to 1,120 baht (about 136 ringgit) starting June 20.
These six airports include Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, Phuket Airport, Chiang Mai Airport, Hat Yai Airport, and Chiang Rai Airport.
AOT Chairwoman Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said the additional revenue will be used for airport development, including expanding passenger terminals, building automated common-use passenger processing systems, and improving security technology.
She told the Bangkok Post that this price increase is unlikely to affect travel demand.
