The Korean "MAMA Awards" took place on the evening of November 29 at the main venue of Hong Kong's Kai Tak Sports Park, holding its second awards ceremony. Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat was originally rumored not to attend, but ultimately he made an appearance as an award presenter. Dressed in a deep black suit, he took the stage and asked the entire audience to observe a moment of silence for the Hong Kong fire incident. He choked up and bowed his head while speaking, the lights went completely dark, and the whole audience observed a minute of silence. He later regained his humorous demeanor, speaking in Korean, "Hurry up, there’s no time," and then presented the Artist of the Year award to G-Dragon (GD).
GD not only swept up the Best Male Dancer Award and Best Male Artist Award, but also performed “Drama,” “Heartbreaker,” and “Untitled.” Chow Yun-fat appeared as the final presenter. He greeted everyone in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, first saying in Cantonese, “Before presenting the award I have a small request, I hope everyone can stand up.” He then switched to Mandarin and said: “Dear friends, please stand up slowly to send our heartfelt blessings to the residents of Tai Po,” at which point the entire audience rose for a moment of silence.
The lights in the venue went completely dark—even the screens and audience's lightsticks turned off. After a minute of silence, Chow Yun-fat returned with his humor: “Thank you, please be seated. Thank you MAMA for this opportunity. I’ve waited for this opportunity for seven years—my hair has turned white waiting!” He was referring to the fact that MAMA returned to Hong Kong after seven years, as his last attendance at MAMA was in 2015. He also jokingly said in Korean, “Hurry up, there’s no time.”
Chow Yun-fat finally presented the Artist of the Year award to GD, and, as the background music for “Too Bad” played, he took GD by the hand and they danced together. GD danced shyly, covering his face with a bashful smile. Gratefully, he said, “It’s a great honor to do this with Brother Chow Yun-fat,” and also mentioned the Hong Kong fire, admitting, “Even though today is a very happy day, it’s also a very sad day—a mix of emotions.” He thanked V.I.P (BIGBANG fans) and FAM (GD fans), saying, “Next year will be our group’s 20th anniversary, and I won’t be alone—I’ll come to the party with my friends! Thank you everyone!” hinting at a group comeback.

Some netizens noticed that when GD sang “Drama,” he deliberately skipped the lyrics “Burn Burn This Love” to avoid the words related to the fire accident, which touched many fans. In addition, he, who is usually known for his brightly colored hair, purposely appeared with black hair and an all-black outfit this time, seen as a tribute to the victims. Not only that, it is reported that GD has quietly donated HKD 1 million (around SGD 170,000) to the Hong Kong fire relief efforts, performing his kindness in a low-profile way.
Stray Kids not only delivered a number of spectacular performances, but with over 3.03 million first-week sales, took home the Album of the Year award for “Karma.” Lee Know and Seungmin, both of whom were injured, were helped onto the stage; Felix, the youngest I.N., Hyunjin, and Changbin all cried. Leader Bang Chan teared up in his speech: “I can’t believe we’re actually standing on this stage that we dreamed of as trainees and are receiving such a big award.” He thanked his teammates and the company for their efforts, as well as the support of STAY (the fan club).
