A fire broke out at the well-known landmark "COEX International Exhibition Center" in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, on the morning of the 25th. A large amount of thick smoke was observed pouring out from the building, shrouding the surrounding streets.
Preliminary assessment indicates the fire originated from a restaurant on the 2nd floor, causing severe indoor smoke. Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties at this time.
Seoul's fire authorities stated that they received reports at 11:06 AM local time (10:06 AM Malaysian time) and rushed to the scene to further investigate the cause of the fire. People who were inside COEX and customers from nearby commercial facilities were evacuated urgently to the outdoors.
The COEX International Exhibition Center is a comprehensive complex facility located in Seoul's Gangnam District, combining trade exhibitions, a conference center, and a shopping mall. The center houses over 200 shop outlets, a large aquarium, and the well-known Starfield Library, attracting a large flow of people under normal circumstances.
