(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) The laboratory department of Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) has officially been awarded its third ISO 15189 certification certificate by Minister of Health and JPMC Board of Directors Chairman, Dato Seri Isham, showcasing the department’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered laboratory services.

Previously, the department successfully underwent recertification in October 2025, transitioning to the updated ISO 15189:2022 standard. The latest assessment was conducted by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) from June 30 to July 1, 2025, covering requirements that included the integration of Point-of-Care Testing (POCT). This effectively expanded the certification scope and further strengthened the laboratory’s internal risk-based management processes.

Laboratory Manager Haji Muhammad stated: "This certification is a testament to our laboratory team’s hard work, professionalism, resilience, and the strong support from our senior management. We will continue to uphold high standards and enhance our capabilities to provide reliable, efficient, and patient-centered medical services."

Senior Medical Science Officer Hanees added: "Achieving certification for the third time reflects our team’s steadfast commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Since first obtaining certification in 2017, we have remained focused on enhancing service quality and expanding test offerings to better meet the needs of the community."
