(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) The 11th graduation ceremony of Brunei Polytechnic Institute (PB) for 2025 was held at the Berakas International Convention Centre, with a total of 897 graduates receiving Level 5 Diploma certificates, including 416 males and 481 females.
Among them, 184 graduates received the Level 5 Diploma in Business, 172 graduates received the Level 5 Diploma in Information & Communication Technology, 210 graduates received the Level 5 Diploma in Science & Engineering, 156 graduates received the Level 5 Diploma in Health Sciences, and 175 graduates received the Level 5 Diploma in Petrochemicals.
These students have completed the two-and-a-half-year study program provided by the school, and the Level 5 Diplomas are recognized by the Ministry of Education through the National Accreditation Council (MKPK).
Minister of Education Datin Romaizah attended and officiated at the certificate awarding ceremony.
Acting Director of the institute, Saif Baharin, stated in his welcome address that starting from July 2026, the school will launch three new courses: Level 5 Diploma in Plant Engineering, Level 5 Diploma in Digital Solutions, and Level 5 Diploma in Business & Tourism Management.
"The launching of these courses aims to meet the constantly changing demands of the industry and to equip students with specific skills relevant to key national and regional sectors."
"By offering these new courses, the school will provide a more diversified learning pathway in line with current market trends and technological advances."
He stated that this initiative is expected to enhance graduates’ competitiveness in the job market and their readiness for employment, by exposing them to industry-relevant practical and professional knowledge.
He explained that these courses will also develop a highly skilled workforce capable of making effective contributions in the fields of plant engineering, digital innovation, as well as the dynamic business and tourism sectors, thereby supporting the nation’s economic development goals.
Therefore, he explained, students applying to the school will benefit from higher educational quality and more meaningful employment opportunities after graduation.
