(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) Brunei recently participated in the 2025 Southeast Asia Cyber Competition (CyberSEA Game 2025). This prestigious regional cybersecurity competition brings together top talents from across Southeast Asia, aiming to strengthen regional cooperation and cyber defense capabilities.
The 2025 Southeast Asia Cyber Competition (CyberSEA Game 2025) was held from October 16 to 17, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand. This is an annual Capture the Flag (CTF) event organized by the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Center (AJCCBC).
The Brunei delegation consisted of four members from the Brunei Cyber Security Association (BCSA), with members representing local industry and higher education institutions, including ITPSS Private Limited, Datastream Digital Private Limited (DST), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
This participation demonstrates the country’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent in the cybersecurity field and strengthening the nation's professional skills in this critical area.
The competition brought together participants from ASEAN member states to tackle complex technical challenges in cybersecurity, cryptography, digital forensics, reverse engineering, and incident response.
The event aims to build and strengthen ASEAN’s regional cybersecurity capabilities, promote knowledge sharing, and recognize emerging cyber talent.
Outstanding participants will also have the opportunity to be selected to represent the region at the 2025 International Cybersecurity Challenge, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan from November 11 to 14, 2025.
This year’s top three teams were: Vietnam (First Place), Singapore (Second Place), and Indonesia (Third Place).
