(Kuala Lumpur, 20th) The former chief private secretary to PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin, Datuk Mazuki, has publicly released a letter to prove that after the 15th General Election, PN offered BN the post of Deputy Prime Minister; he also accused former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi of lying.
According to the letter, he stated that PN not only offered the position of Prime Minister, but also other ministerial and government positions to UMNO.
Mazuki published his rebuttal to Rafizi’s claim on Facebook; earlier, Rafizi stated that after the 15th General Election, PN did not make any substantial offer for cooperation to BN.
"In fact, he also claimed that Muhyiddin looked down on UMNO. He claimed he had an insider at the PN-BN negotiations held on November 23, 2022. I don’t know whether he really has an ‘insider’. Rafizi, you are lying.”
Mazuki stated that he himself was present at the negotiations from start to finish, and described the atmosphere as cordial.
“As for who would be the Deputy Prime Minister, no decision had been made at that time, as it was to be decided through discussions between the Prime Minister and the BN leadership.”
He continued that the BN delegation, led by Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, at the time requested that PN submit a formal written proposal so that it could be brought back to the UMNO Supreme Council for briefing.
After the meeting, he and then-PN Secretary General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin drafted this letter and personally handed it to the BN deputy president on the same day.
At that time, he did not know the outcome of the UMNO Supreme Council’s decision. However, when the UMNO Secretary General issued a statement that night announcing the Council’s rejection of PN’s proposal, he was surprised.
