(Kuala Lumpur, 20th) As of Sunday (July 20) at 9am, the Air Pollution Index (API) in four areas nationwide has exceeded 150 points, reaching the unhealthy level.
According to data from Malaysia’s Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS), Nilai in Negeri Sembilan recorded an API of 156, Port Dickson 153, while two locations in Selangor, Johan Setia and Banting, reached 155 and 151 respectively.
The API in 58 other areas is also approaching the unhealthy level, including Putrajaya at 99, and several regions in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, such as Cheras at 97, Batu Muda at 91, Petaling Jaya at 88, Shah Alam at 87, Klang at 86, and Kuala Selangor at 84.
According to the official system, an index between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and above 300 is hazardous.
