(Miri, 1st) The fourth "Dato Chen Chao Yao Cup Handicap Table Tennis Tournament 2025" successfully concluded yesterday afternoon at the Miri Table Tennis Association.
Dato Chen Chao Yao was originally scheduled to officiate the opening ceremony, but was unable to return to Miri due to attending a state assembly meeting. Instead, Captain Leong Chun Lin attended as his representative.
In his speech, Leong Chun Lin encouraged participants to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, learn from one another, and enjoy the matches. He also wished the Miri Table Tennis Team the best of luck in the upcoming Sarawak Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament to be held in Kuching.
This year’s event delivered excellent results in terms of participation, competition level, and atmosphere, reflecting the vigorous development and abundance of talent in Miri's table tennis scene.
The organizing committee thanked all participants, sponsors, and the team of volunteers for making the tournament a smooth success.
This year’s tournaments have concluded successfully, and all are looking forward to even larger scale events next year, providing Miri’s top table tennis players with a higher-level competitive platform.
