(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) In order to raise awareness and strengthen actions against human trafficking in Brunei, the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit (USPM) of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) under the Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) organized a touring awareness seminar on human trafficking crimes for frontline police officers and hotel staff.
The seminar was held at the Junna Afia Hotel.
The main purpose of this seminar was to educate and enhance participants' understanding of how to identify potential victims of human trafficking crimes in the country.
The seminar advised law enforcement agencies and frontline organizations to remain vigilant at all times and identify those who may be lured and exploited, becoming victims of human trafficking as early as possible.
Cooperation from hotel staff is crucial in addressing the issue of human trafficking. Not only can they support the Royal Brunei Police Force’s efforts in combating such crimes, but they can also play an important role.
