Iran Allows Ships from Certain Countries to Pass Through the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ravanchi said in a media interview on the 12th that Iran allows ships from certain countries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

He said that some countries have discussed the issue of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz with Iran, and Iran has cooperated with them, but countries that have participated in aggression against Iran do not enjoy the right of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Ravanchi also stated that Iran has not laid mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. Claims Iran Has Laid Naval Mines

According to a report by The New York Times on the 12th, Iran has begun laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

The report quoted a well-informed U.S. official as saying that although the U.S. military has destroyed most of the larger Iranian naval vessels, Iran began using smaller boats to lay mines starting on the 12th.

The U.S. Central Command said on the 12th that U.S. attacks have resulted in more than 90 Iranian warships being damaged, including over 30 minelaying vessels.
