3 thieves sneaked into a home to steal 4 car wheel rims, and the police apprehended 2 of them and recovered the stolen rims within nearly 10 hours of receiving the report.
According to a 30-second video uploaded on the social platform X, 3 thieves entered a residential unit's garden, where the iron grille had been opened, and proceeded to take the car wheel rims.
The police confirmed that the incident occurred on Monday (April 14) at 4:02 PM at a residential home in Alam Budiman, Shah Alam, Selangor, and the report was filed by the victim the following day, at 11:57 AM.
The Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ibai, stated that the victim, a Malay project manager living locally, discovered the theft of the wheel rims from his Toyota car after reviewing the CCTV footage.
He noted that the suspects entered the home's garden, stole 4 car wheel rims, and placed them into a vehicle, causing the victim a loss of 2,000 MYR.
In a statement, he said that the police, upon receiving the report, apprehended two Indian men (aged 19 and 21) by the same evening at 10 PM, based on intelligence.
“During the operation, the police recovered these 4 car wheel rims and a Proton Wira car used by the suspects when committing the act.”
Ibai added that the two arrested suspects each have 6 and 8 past criminal and drug-related records, and their detention has been extended until Friday (18th) to aid in investigation.
The police are investigating the case under Section 380 of the Penal Code (Theft in a Dwelling House), and the public is urged to contact the investigating officer Sergeant Rustan (0196148034) with any information.
