National Head of State Hosts State Banquet to Welcome Xi Jinping, Malaysian Chinese Community Leaders Also Invited

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the national head of state, hosted a state banquet to welcome the visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping. Besides government officials and diplomatic envoys, leaders of the Chinese community were also invited.

According to photos provided by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), ACCCIM President Dato' Wee Yeap Ping, Permanent Honorary President Dato' Lim Kok Cheong, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Tay Ah Lek, Senator Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Fong Chan Onn, Honorary President Tan Sri Dato' Seri Phang Ah Tong, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Fong Chan Onn, and ACCCIM Senior Advisor Dato' Chen Tien Min were all invited to attend the state banquet.

Furthermore, in the images provided by ACCCIM, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Chang Lih Kang, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Liew Chin Tong, and Deputy Speaker of the Senate Dato' Nur Jazlan were also seen attending the banquet and posing for photos.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Minister of Local Government Development Nga Kor Ming were seated at the guest of honor table during the banquet.

The special performances presented by the National Department for Culture and Arts included dances characteristic of the country's various ethnic groups, orchestral music, and more. Local singer Suki Low performed several Chinese songs during the event, including "To Say I Love You with Malaysia's Weather," "Direction of Light," and "Thank You."
