Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China is willing to work with Malaysia to continue advancing the China-Malaysia community of shared destiny towards a high-level strategic direction, creating more benefits for the people of both countries.

“Contributing to regional prosperity and promoting the enduring friendship between China and Malaysia for generations to come.”

Xi made these remarks today (16th) when leading the Chinese delegation to the Prime Minister's residence in Putrajaya, before attending bilateral talks with the Malaysian delegation led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar.

He stated that this is his first visit to Malaysia in 12 years, and Malaysia has reached new milestones in its development over these years. He congratulated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar on the successful realization of his vision for a prosperous Malaysia.

Xi noted that the traditional friendship between China and Malaysia spans thousands of miles, dating back to Chinese navigator Zheng He's five voyages to Malacca, and that over 50 years ago, the two countries overcame the shadows of the Cold War to establish diplomatic relations.

“From the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, where the two countries supported each other, to today where our unity and cooperation have built a community of shared destiny, China-Malaysia relations are entering a new golden era.”

“The long-standing friendship between China and Malaysia has been nurtured in history, grown in cultural integration, consolidated through mutual benefit, and elevated in shared hardships. It embodies common values of mutual connection, sincerity, commitment to righteousness, and the pursuit of harmony.”

He said this reflects the historical wisdom and courage of the people of both countries and is a precious asset that we should cherish.

“I am willing to work with you to continue advancing the China-Malaysia community of shared destiny towards a high-level strategic direction, creating more benefits for the people of both countries and contributing to regional prosperity.”
