(Serian, 8th) — A sports utility vehicle (SUV) lost control near Kampung Ensebang Quarry last night (June 7), veered off the road, and fell into a ravine approximately 10 meters deep. All three occupants of the vehicle had a narrow escape, with two sustaining injuries and being sent to the hospital.
The accident occurred at around 8:50 PM. A Perodua Aruz, carrying two men and one woman, suddenly lost control and left the road while traveling, subsequently plunging into the ravine.
The Fire and Rescue Department stated that after receiving the report, the Serian Fire and Rescue team was immediately dispatched to the accident scene, located about 39 kilometers from the station, to carry out the rescue operation.
Upon arrival, rescuers found that the two male occupants had already escaped on their own, but the female passenger was still trapped in the severely damaged vehicle.
The firefighters then used special rescue equipment to carry out a dismantling operation and successfully rescued the injured woman, handing all three occupants over to medical personnel for preliminary treatment.
It is understood that the injured parties were a 52-year-old female passenger and an 18-year-old male driver, both of whom were later sent to the hospital for further treatment.
As for the other 24-year-old male passenger, he was unharmed.
After ensuring the scene was safe, the rescue operation concluded at 10:10 PM.
