(Sekinchan, June 8) — A food delivery rider and a contract worker were arrested by police last night (June 7) after their urine tests showed positive results for drugs.
The Sekinchan Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Team conducted drug screenings on the two individuals at around 11:15 pm. The suspects are a 22-year-old food delivery rider and a 30-year-old contract worker.
Sekinchan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohamad Haid, stated that preliminary urine tests showed both individuals tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
He said, “Investigations found that the two suspects had allegedly consumed syabu (methamphetamine) the day before their arrest.”
He noted that the food delivery rider did not have any prior criminal record, while the contract worker had a record for violating Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“Both were subsequently arrested by the police under the same section to assist in investigations related to drug use.”
Mohamad Haid added that the two suspects are currently being held at the Sekinchan Police Station detention facility for further investigation.
