The couple involved were later identified as Andy Byron, CEO of the American company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, director of the HR department—both of whom are married. The concert abruptly turned into a public bust, sparking heated discussion among netizens worldwide.
Days after the incident continued to make waves, Andy confirmed he lost his job due to the affair. According to the Associated Press, Astronomer confirmed Andy has resigned as CEO. The company’s statement read: ‘Astronomer has always remained steadfast in upholding the values and culture it was founded on, and we require our leadership team to set the standard in terms of behavior and responsibility—something that was recently not met.’

A new Facebook account for ‘official wife’ Megan Kerrigan appeared. She posted candidly about her feelings, and, most interestingly, she also shared a photo with Taipei 101. However, some netizens claimed, ‘This is a fake account.’
In her first post, she announced she had dropped the ‘Byron’ surname. She wrote, ‘This decision is not made out of resentment, but out of peace. I gave my heart, loyalty, and name to someone who cannot respect me even in private, let alone in public.’
She further revealed that while betrayal is painful, public humiliation hurts even more, saying she will never look back. Media analysis suggests that, depending on her move, Andy may face a lawsuit for alimony worth tens of millions of ringgit.
