The Chinese cooking show One Meal to Fame, hosted by hunky Nicholas Tse, became a hot topic as soon as it aired, with many pointing out that the show is essentially a Chinese version of Korea's cooking competition Paik's Master Class. Nevertheless, Tse throws himself completely into the program—most recently, footage showed him biting into a cheese-loaded pizza topped with whole insects, leaving netizens both shocked and distressed: “Is Nicholas short of money?”
In addition to tasting 28 dishes in one go, in the latest preview Tse—who doesn't even flinch filming stunts like jumping off 8-story buildings—was visibly hesitant when challenged to try a pizza topped with insect ingredients like bee pupae, bamboo worms, and silkworm pupae. Facing the chef who created this “truly wild” dish, Tse said: “Dangerous man, you have to tell me about this first, I’m a little worried.”

When told by the chef that the pizza also included rarely used black ant eggs, Tse took a deep breath and said, “I’ve eaten things like scorpion before, but I never thought of putting insects on a pizza.” He finally stuffed a whole slice of the insect pizza in his mouth, even giving it high marks: “High protein, low fat—not bad at all.”
Some netizens felt for Tse having to force down a whole-insect pizza, leaving comments like: “Isn’t this just to mess with him?” and “Nicholas really has guts.”
