Du Meizhu, the key figure who shook the entertainment industry by exposing Kris Wu's sexual assault, recently appeared on the women's talk show "Sao Sao Qing Jiang" (Sister-in-law, Please Speak), where she openly recounted how she first met Kris Wu, sparking heated public discussion.
The show promoted her as the “Top Star Terminator” and “18-Year-Old Dragon Slayer,” drawing attention but also criticism for sensationalizing a judicial tragedy and exploiting a victim.
On the program, Du Meizhu revealed that when she was 18 and preparing for her college entrance exams, Kris Wu's manager contacted her via Weibo direct message, claiming to be casting an MV female lead and asked for personal information. She was then invited for an audition, but declined as she was busy with exams. After being admitted to a Beijing university, she received another invitation, and this time went with a friend to the audition, where she was taken to Kris Wu's mansion, where more than ten young women and musicians were gathered. Du Meizhu recalled that she had thought it would be a formal audition, but during a drinking game lost consciousness, and when she woke up found herself in bed with Kris Wu, feeling shocked and confused.
She admitted that at the time, she was young and inexperienced, and thought the other party was sincere, and even had a brief relationship. It was only when she discovered that he was simultaneously contacting multiple girls, including her roommate and classmates, that she realized she'd been deceived. Regarding rumors that Kris Wu offered 20 million RMB (about 11.83 million ringgit) in settlement money, she said she chose to refuse: "This is not just about me alone."
In addition, on the program Du Meizhu stated, "I never actively called the police," which differs from past Beijing police reports that said she cooperated to initiate proceedings, and from leaked audio in which she proposed an 8 million RMB (about 4.73 million ringgit) private settlement, causing controversy over her credibility.
