Police in Los Angeles County, California confirmed to the media on the 4th that officers arrested an armed man at a golf course in Los Angeles County on the 2nd, where U.S. President Trump was scheduled to attend an event later that day.
According to police, federal law enforcement personnel noticed a suspicious man taking photos and videos inside the golf course. Los Angeles County deputies subsequently detained the man, discovering a magazine filled with bullets in his pants pocket. A loaded handgun and additional ammunition were found in his car parked near the golf course.
Authorities stated that on the 3rd, Los Angeles County police and federal officers found a large cache of weapons and ammunition at the suspect's residence, including modified AR rifles, handguns, body armor, and high-capacity magazines. They also confiscated several notebooks containing "concerning statements" and two radio signal devices.
Police said that the man is currently under investigation for another robbery case.
According to local media reports, the suspect has been identified as a 38-year-old man named Talay from Downey, California. There is currently no indication that the suspect had planned an attack targeting Trump.
