(Kuching, 11th) The Kuching Operations Unit of the Road Transport Department launched the “Motorcycle Operation” (Ops Motosikal) on Tuesday (February 10th) in the city. Through patrol enforcement and surveillance, a total of 14 vehicles were seized.
This operation also set up a fixed checkpoint at Matang Datuk Haji Road, inspecting vehicles traveling in both directions.
During the operation, enforcement officers inspected 903 vehicles, including commercial and private vehicles.
Police discovered a number of violations, including not having a valid driving license, not holding a professional permit, non-compliant license plates, as well as vehicle technical issues that could endanger road safety.
In the same operation, enforcement officers seized 14 vehicles, including 10 motorcycles, 2 cars, and 2 vans, because the vehicles’ licenses (LKM) had expired and they did not have valid insurance.
The Road Transport Department reminds drivers to ensure they possess a valid driving license, vehicle license (LKM), and vehicle insurance before going on the road.
